* Managed, distributed and conducted maintenance routines for main propulsion plant and auxiliary systems on a sea going platform. * Held charge of main propulsion plant at sea, supervising engine mode changeovers, machinery breakdowns and enforcing engineering standards whilst carrying out watchkeeping duties as engineering officer of the watch. * Delivered type 23 frigate back to full operational capability after major refit period, liaising with various outside authorities to ensure contractual standards were met. * Oversaw the planning and project managing of refit and maintenance periods for the propulsion group. * Supervised, planned and instigated preventative maintenance of key ships equipment on a day to day basis using computer generated maintenance systems. * Diagnosed faults, oversaw and conducted repairs on over £30M of propulsion and auxiliary equipment, including Rolls Royce Gas Turbines, machinery control and surveillance systems, steering and stabilising hydraulic power units, auxiliary cooling pumps and systems and main power and propulsion diesel generators. * Provided detailed appraisal reports for all team members and assisted with training and career advancement. Including technical boards. * Held responsible for delivering current and up to date electrical and mechanical engineering training to junior eng-techs and junior officers. * Deployed manpower and resources to reduce equipment downtime and maintain the ships operational capability. * Managed teams of up to 10 junior staff on both warships and shore side establishments. * Completed operational sea training package, developing leadership of fire fighting and damage control teams within an action and emergency environment.
