I worked for some time with the Special Broadcasting Service (SBS) in their St Leonards office in Sydney. I was responsible for sourcing, writing, and sub-editing radio news bulletins for the multi-lingual radio services across the SBS. I worked to tight hourly deadlines by myself, responsible for managing the timely gathering of news to file for producers. Along with my hourly bulletins, I was required to cut and produce multiple audio current affairs packages each shift, consisting of 3 to 5 minutes of audio featuring interview clips from news wires (eg AP, Reuters) and my own commentary. These were files in audio and text to language radio programs for translation and broadcast. I also uploaded them to the SBS podcast feed during each shift. I would also collaborate with online, social media and video reporters to distribute news stories across various online and multi-media channels.
