About Tim Bennett

My career encapsulates a remarkable journey, marked by a pivotal transition from an accomplished senior leader to building cutting-edge software across industries. The blended background grants a unique perspective in client collaborations, merging technical know-how with business acumen for holistic, goal-aligned solutions.I cut my teeth and advanced professionally in mortgage finance, sharpening skills in business analysis, analytics, and leadership. I partnered with development teams and consultants, boosting tech capabilities, and recruited to join a risk management team startup. My roles encompassed project management, business analysis, data analysis, risk management, pricing specialist, and hands-on team leader. The shift to software engineering was a strategic move driven by a passion for technology and pure tenacity. After declining an incredible opportunity for corporate transfer, I soon realized the local market had limited need for my domain experience. Embracing change, I accepted the challenge, humbled myself, and enrolled in an 18-week full-stack coding bootcamp focusing on responsive design using .NET, AngularJS, HTML, CSS, and Bootstrap.Post graduation, I joined a consulting firm specializing in custom web app development, where seasoned architects mentored me in clean code principles and agile/scrum methodologies.Selected Highlights:➤ In-depth tour of web development: from .NET MVC & AngularJS, back to .NET Web Forms, leaped forward to Java Spring Boot with Angular 9 hosted in Google Cloud, time-warped back to Apache Struts, fast forward to .NET Core with Angular 14+ hosted in Azure.➤ Collaborated in a corporate-Google cosponsored hackathon; our team received an honorable mention for integrating Google Vision AI to produce the most evident proof-of-concept that solved a documented business need. ➤ Selected by leadership for specialized assignment with an off-site “next generation” team. Tasked with assimilating advanced agile methodologies and Extreme Programming best practices, documenting processes, and transferring knowledge across internal teams.Early Career Notes: ➤ 12+ years leading and developing teams, coaching, performance management. ➤ I directed operations for a premier data analytics provider, accountable for data quality and SLA compliance, led quality assurance and auditing teams, SME, and primary client contact. ➤ Led and collaborated on major technical initiatives: internal underwriting engine, real-time web-based rating engine, integrations with GSE underwriting portals and mortgage LOS platforms.

Listed skills include Risk Management, Financial Risk, Mortgage Banking, Mortgage Lending, and 43 others.

Web Software Engineer | Asp.Net

Greensboro/Winston-Salem, North Carolina Area

Completed a full-stack, immersive coding bootcamp using .NET technologies and responsive web design. The program was designed to emulate a software development company. Each project had a set of acceptance criteria with weekly deliverables while offering full autonomy over design and implementation. On Mondays, we had to "suit up" and present our code to the lead trainers. The meetings resembled a blend of a weekly standup, an in-person code review, and a technical interview. The goal was to get comfortable presenting, discussing your code, and justifying decisions in an uncomfortable environment.Highlights:➤ Created personal portfolio website using C#, MVC, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and Bootstrap. The site included a personal blog with secure log-in, authenticated user comments, and moderator capabilities.➤ Built a fully functional software bug tracker and ticketing web application using C# and MVC. Designed and implemented SQL database using Entity Framework Code First migrations. Utilized LINQ for database queries. The front end was built using HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, JavaScript, and jQuery.➤ Created a fully functional household budgeting web application using C# and .Net MVC framework. Designed dynamic front-end using MVC partial views, HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, JavaScript, and AJAX (think Quicken).➤ The final project was a simple car finder application. The goal was to allow users to research the make and model of a particular car. The application used same technologies as before, but with a twist.
