In the World War II drama miniseries Band of Brothers there is a battle where a Lieutenant wasn't executing his role and men were in jeopardy. His Captain takes over for him and implores his men, "Keep moving forward". He knows their training and preparation will lead them to success (victory). That is a motto of mine "Keep moving forward".Preparation and attention to detail are passions of mine. That has funneled my job path to where I am today as a Quality Manager. During that journey I have used my life experiences as guidance. I follow the golden rule of life (do onto others as you would have them do onto you) That adherence to the rule has translated to me being a person that others will readily trust and they see me as a natural leader. I have always volunteered and been part of organizations outside of work that given me great insight into what it takes to be a leader and a people person. I have honed those skills during my involvement with organizations such as being an officer on a volunteer fire department for over 20 years, President of a church council, several fundraising committees, and a coach for several youth sports teams including boys’ and girls’ organizations. Those experiences with all the members/players have translated very well into my ability to both lead people and achieve desired outcomes. Whether it is teaching basics to ball players or leading Quality Engineers to perform at their highest level during critical ISO audits, I pay attention to details and develop team members so they can succeed in those endeavors. Communication is my strongest skill. When people hear communication, they have a tendency to think “I have to be a better speaker to get my message out”. Speaking is only half of communication. What I excel at is the other half.
