As the manager of Reporting and Red Tape Reduction, I work collaboratively with Commonwealth, State and Territory governments on policy reforms that affect the charity sector. I also lead various strategic projects at the ACNC, and manage policies that relate to the ACNC's reporting and red tape reduction function.With a broad range of responsibilities, my highlights have included:- managing stakeholder relationships while also leading negotiations and implementing complex policy reform initiatives with government agencies in Victoria, NSW, Western Australia, the Northern Territory and the Commonwealth. These reforms have reduced reporting obligations for over 15,000 charities and saved charities over $8 million in compliance costs.- representing the ACNC at important external events and forums, as well as a number of high-profile multi-jurisdictional working groups.- leading the ACNC Commissioner’s initiative – ‘the Charity Marketplace’ – which has revolutionised the data that the ACNC collects from over 59,000 registered charities.- leading the public consultation process on key ACNC initiatives (such as ‘the Charity Marketplace’) that affect the charity sector, which includes writing consultation papers, designing online surveys, facilitating face-to-face feedback sessions with stakeholders in addition to summarising results in both a verbal and written format.- leading and managing various stakeholders to help develop the ACNC’s annual return (which must be submitted by all registered charities).- leading, narrating and conducting analysis for the ACNC’s annual Charities Report (a comprehensive report that analyses the charity sector’s activities, income, expenses and operations). - acting as the Director of Reporting and Red Tape Reduction (Executive Level 2) in September 2017, September 2018, September 2019 and January 2021.
