I never thought when I joined Grant Thornton in Chicago back in 2003 that almost two decades later I would be Partner and Head of Assurance at Grant Thornton in Singapore. It is very interesting where life will take you if you have a little sense of adventure, humility, and a strong work ethic. I have been very fortunate to work with some amazing colleagues from all parts of the world, as well as some dynamic clients that have opened my eyes to how businesses and leaders remain effective and relevant in the ever-changing environment we live in.Throughout my experiences, I have been able to serve a wide range of both listed and privately held companies across variety of industries, geographies, and size. My day job is External Audit as I am both a US CPA and Singapore Chartered Accountant, but I have been able to provide consulting around Financial Reporting Advisory, US GAAP and IFRS, Internal Controls, and Business Process. In addition, I have been able to contribute to the strategic vision of Grant Thornton Singapore, having led various roles around Operations, People and Culture, Markets, Learning and Development, as well a member of the Board of Directors. I was able to obtain my license as an accredited Coach which has helped me to develop my true passion, which is growing and mentoring our people.Who new that a kid from Kentucky would find his way to the other side of the world in Singapore. I still try to enjoy an active outdoor lifestyle (fishing, hiking, running, camping) and my sports fandom, but my amazing wife and three kids take priority and keep me young at heart.
