Group consisted of up to 18 engineers and technicians responsible for all hands-on Integration and related activities regarding the $70 million-each DSP IR sensors both at the Associate Contractor facility and at the launch facilities at Cape Canaveral AFB. Responsibilities involved all aspects of Post Production Support of the Aerojet Sensor System including test, repair and limited redesign of flight hardware and EAGE/MAGE equipment, covering both hardware and software. Efforts have included support of three separate launches, two of which were on expendable launch vehicles, the third being on STS-44 (Atlantis, November 1991). Also responsible for Cost Account Management for our Department’s accounts, amounting to about $20 million. This involved budget estimating and tracking, proposal writing and inputs under the C/SCSC accounting system. -

These activities required extensive contact with the USAF Systems, Logistics, and Strategic Air Commands to ensure contractual, technical, and fiscal compliance across the entire field maintenance and support effort. Formed cadre team involved in initial set up of the program office for the Boost Surveillance Tracking System, the forerunner of the current SBIRSS. Duties involved early system concepts and preliminary industry discussions. -
