My wife, Vaughan, and I have established a business close to the beautiful town of Hermanus in the Western Cape, South Africa. Hermanus is well known for the best, land based, whale watching in the world (mainly Southern Right whales). We are marketing and promoting our wines worldwide and are having fun whilst doing it. Our wines include Sauvignon Blanc, an oaked and an unoaked Chardonnay, Syrah and Pinot Noir. Our wines are getting excellent press and our customers are loving our wines. In the Decanter World Wine Awards 2014 we were awarded GOLD for our 2012 Syrah and BRONZE for our Unoaked Chardonnay 2012 and our Chardonnay (oaked) 2011. In 2015 SILVER IWC awards for our 2012 Chardonnay (oaked) and 2013 Sauvignon Blanc, Silver IWSC for our Pinot Noir and Syrah 2013's and Silver Decanter (DWWA) for our Chardonnay 2014 and 2015. In 2018 South African Airways listed two of our wines in their First Class and lounges.

I started Goldcrest Cleaning from my dining room in 1993 but now have little to do with the day to day running of the business. The business is managed by Alan Jones (MD). Goldcrest Cleaning provides first class cleaning services to commercial customers throughout the Midland counties of England. Our clients include many household names as well as solicitors, accountants, medical centres, offices, shops, factories etc. Our customer base is diverse and includes the likes of Warwick Castle, Compton Verney House and many many more.
