I gathered user feedback data to measure the impact. Performed benchmark and follow-up user satisfaction and usability testing to show that the resulting product not only showed a significant increase in usability and user satisfaction compared to previous generation but outranked the competition as well.

I led a team of software developers and engineers to develop the front-end for a new product to evaluate industrial fired heater design and rating (C#/C++/WPF). Also led a team to design, build, and deliver a new C#/WPF desktop software product that analyzed industrial plant data for efficiency gains in heat exchangers. Wrote requirements and reviewed the software architect’s designs. I conducted background user research in order to align our product objectives with the marketplace. Initiated, conducted, analyzed, and reported results for a wide-ranging survey of 1,000 users on their software experiences. Conducted on-site user interviews to understand how our next generation of software could provide a better experience.I organized and led a new product launch process in collaboration with multiple client-facing departments to deliver the company’s first new product delivery in years.

I led a group that researched, evaluated, and recommended the user interface technology roadmap for the next generation of desktop engineering applications. I designed and developed a core data access model for a new generation of applications in C++.

Began a full-time career as a programmer for 10 projects, and was later promoted to Senior Developer II where I served as the project lead on 12 projects for teams of up to 7 developers. Projects emphasized engineering and scientific backgrounds, providing solutions for all levels of users: from engineers and experts to average users. Subject matter included petroleum drilling safety assurance, industrial safety valve selection and sales, geotechnical soil testing, oilfield production monitoring, oilfield upstream service scheduling including asset management and tracking, oilfield wellbore visualization, farm economic analysis, corporate pay analysis, data acquisition for vehicle crash testing, and oilfield well stimulation analysis.Worked with clients during initial meetings to understand their needs and problems. Designed the solution on paper and in software architecture. Wrote proposals and developed timelines and estimates for the project plans. Mentored and guided teams to deliver the solutions.Built the UX/UI department as an in-house resource to develop high-quality graphical assets used in mockups, presentations, user interfaces, splash screens, and icons for our consulting projects. Hired, supervised, assessed, and mentored a team of three designers.Recruited at university job fairs, conducting phone, technical, and social interviews to evaluate candidates.
