Design, implement and manage 1st of its kind Aquaculture Awareness Campaign called Seafood Smart. The program strategically partnered directly with those people that talk to consumers and customers such as retailers. The customer wants to understand aquaculture but has no idea how. We have made the world of seafood too confusing. • Developed and implemented a seafood education program, Seafood Smart, at one of the nation's top aquariums resulting in a national aquaculture education program that reached two million people nationwide• Managed a team who created the program from ground zero, creating training materials and coordinated multi-stakeholder conferences/meetings that grew to support and implement the program; fundraised for the program brining in new partnerships for program implementation and distribution to Aquarium visitors, retailers and consumers• Outreach efforts included conferences, store promotions, speaking engagements, in-person and on-line training of Aquarium and retail staff• Developed partnerships with PBS Television, Wegmans Retail, NOAA, White House Aquaculture Advisory Committee, Cermaq Canada, Seafood Nutrition Partnership and the Conservation Alliance for Sustainable Seafood

Gulf Of Mexico

As Executive Director of the Gulf of Mexico Reef Fish Shareholders’ Alliance, I got the opportunity to not only work with the most forward thinking fishermen in the Gulf of Mexico but shape the future of our fisheries. We moved the bar with red snapper and grouper pre-assements generating boots on the deck change in our industry. By development of and implementation of Gulf Wild™, the Gulf’s first (and to date the only) fully traceable seafood with strict conservation and transparency principals, we changed the landscape of commercial fishing. I have been lucky to have been environmental professional for over 18 years and has worked to strengthen our nation’s fisheries since 1998. As Executive Director, I worked closely with the Alliance’s Board of Directors and diverse groups of fishermen, communities, environmental groups, and decision-makers to define and implement the Alliance’s priorities and goals and strengthen the reef fish industry to achieve sustainability and accountability using the fisheries management tool of catch shares. I also had the privilege of serving on several Gulf Council advisory panels. My research experience has contributed to fisheries management plans in California, white sea bass and juvenile lemon shark research and to the design of the first grouper fishery improvement project and catch share implementation plan.

Oversaw the development of management plans for wetland mitigation, NEPA, endangered species and Bald and Golden Eagle Protection Act. Species includes Bald Eagle, Gopher Tortoise, Sea Turtles, and West Indian Manatee.Managed a staff of 14 scientists, two office staff and contractors for quarterly reviews, human resource needs. Established internal policies and financial controls that handled organizational growth Compiled and wrote wetland permit applications, environmental site assessments, boundary studies and GIS mapping, and water quality impact assessments. Projects resulted in the environmentally-friendly development of a $640M project that preserved 3,500 acres of pristine land. Mitigation for the wetland areas consisted of approximately 10,000 acres totaling $30
