Retired from the construction industry in January 2022. Owner of vacation cabins in the Lost River WV area (Mount Top Cabins, LLC) and The Carriage Inn Bed & Breakfast in Charles Town WV (Rutherford & Carriage Inn, LLC). The Rutherford & Carriage Inn was built in 1838 and hosted six Civil War Generals (J.E.B Stuart, Turner Ashby, Stonewall Jackson, Robert E. Lee, Ulysses S. Grant, and Phillip Sheridan). Grant and Sheridan met at the Inn's dining room on 9-17-1864 to plan the Shenandoah Valley Campaign. General Sheridan used the home as his headquarters numerous times during the Civil War. The home was owned and occupied by George Washington's nephew, also named George (the son of Charles Washington), from 1888 - 1902. George Washington, the nephew, was also the mayor of Charles Town during that period. George Washington planted the two Copper Beech trees in the front, which still thrive today. The tree on the right is listed as the largest Copper Beech tree in the state of WV. The home was converted to The Carriage Inn Bed & Breakfast in 1985 with 9 bedrooms and 8.5 Bathrooms.
