For NIET, I evaluate federal, state, and philanthropic grants awarded to NIET or a partner organization. These grants have focused on implementing sustainable schoolwide programs that develop teacher effectiveness. Most often these grants implement NIET's TAP System of Teacher and Student Advancement, an educator-led, school reform solution focused on attracting, developing, motivating, and retaining effective teachers. The evaluation work includes fulfilling the annual performance reporting required by the funding agency. For the 2020-21 and 2021-22 school years, I have evaluated a pilot program that assists schools and districts to implement local character education initiatives.For research activities, I and colleagues have a research paper that examines the sustainability of the TAP System after the initial grant-funded implementation. I have also worked with colleagues examining the validity and reliability of NIET’s rubrics for measuring the effectiveness of classroom instruction.
