About Trevor Leutscher

I am an educational researcher and evaluator with 25+ years of experience working on and leading projects managing and analyzing research and administrative data. I have over fifteen years of educational evaluation experience. I have conducted numerous evaluations of education programs/grants for state education agencies, local education agencies, non-profits, and for-profits. I conducted statewide, multi-site, multi-year evaluations of educational technology integration. The importance of the evaluation was not the technology itself but rather the ways schools, departments, and teachers were making learning interesting for all students. I conducted evaluations of the National Institute for Excellence in Teaching (NIET) TAP System for Teacher and Student Advancement in Louisiana and Texas and a Teacher Incentive Fund grant in Indiana that implemented TAP in low achieving schools throughout the state. I also helped evaluated Middletown, NY’s Race-to-the-Top-District grant, which included analyses of a two-year Kindergarten program, a retention/remediation program in grades K-8, college credit courses in high school, and programs to infuse personalized learning and instruction into the district. Of the sixteen RTTT-D awards in 2012, only Middletown aspired to whole district reform—all grades, all students, all topics—that could be sustained long-term.Outside of education, I have experiences as a participant and leaders of projects managing and analyzing research and administrative data. I have experience working on projects ranging from analyzing business and industry survey data for academic research to managing measurement data for increasing business performance. I participated in a research project analyzing the effects of positive organizational practices on outcomes in various business sectors. I helped implement a new measurement system of tracking consumer loyalty that has been applied to direct marketing and competitive analyses. I helped implement an online dealer evaluation system to inform local automotive dealers about key performance metrics. I also helped analyze over a terabyte of automotive warranty data to discover anomalies between international and domestic warranty claims.
