Chartered Engineer and Charter Environmentalist with experience as client and consultant delivering flood risk management, environmental and other infrastructure projects and programmes. I am leading a project team developing the Thames Estuary Next Delivery Vehicle (TE NDV). My team is developing the next 10-15 year adaptive programme for flood risk asset management on the tidal Thames Estuary, and we’re designing the organisational structure, governance, programme duration and commercial model. We will be tendering this programme with a value of well over £1bn; and we’ll mobilise to replace the current TEAM2100 delivery team after 2025. The programme scope is to deliver the Thames Estuary 2100 Plan. The work will include asset renewal and replacement, maintenance of existing assets, engaging with stakeholders and other asset owners, and preparation for and delivery of asset raising in line with the timescales set out in the TE2100 Plan. For the past 8 years I have lead a team of approximately 80 project management professionals. The team work collaboratively across the EA and with partners to deliver Government’s investment in flood risk management, environmental and navigation projects in the Midlands.During environmental and flooding incidents, I lead the EA's incident response in the West Midlands Area as Area Duty Manager. I provide strategic leadership and accountability for our incident response. Additionally I act as Gold Lead Officer, engaging with Local Resilience Forums to ensure an effective and joined up response. I am the immediate past chair of the Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management (CIWEM) Rivers and Coastal Group Committee. We work for the public benefit for a clean, green and sustainable world. As an institution and committee we are committed to an integrated approach to environmental, social and cultural issues. Our committee now particularly supports CIWEM’s planning and delivery of the Flood and Coast conference.
