I am working within the applied nuclear physics group at the University of Manchester on experiments performed at the n_TOF neutron time-of-flight facility at CERN. My interests are nuclear data measurements fulfilling industrial requirements. Current projects include working on a 238U evaluation, the commissioning of a second experimental area at n_TOF, CERN and the STEFF fission fragment spectrometer which will be involved in the 2015 n_TOF experimental campaign.

I am currently working towards my PhD in applied nuclear physics. My research revolves around cross section measurements at the n_TOF facility, CERN.By measuring neutron cross secitons more accurately, the next generation of nuclear reactors can be designed more efficiently, economically and most importantly, more safely. My PhD research specfically is looking at the capture cross section of U-238. We are trying to give the nuclear community the most accurate measurement of this that has ever been done. Alongside this, other research interests are nuclear fission and finally medical physics.

This job involved working on a mobile climbing wall, and primarily I was responsible for the safety of all the users of the climbing wall. Also, within the same company I taught bushcraft skills, and team building excersies.

I was responsible for instructing many climbers ranging from beginners to advanced.
