Over the course of my 30+ year law enforcement career, I have had the opportunity to gain valuable experience in various capacities while establishing a positive role model image and reputation as a leader and mentor. I subscribe to a commonsense approach to problem-solving and supervision while constantly looking for ways to improve operational efficiencies.During my career, I was a Field Training Officer for 4 years before being promoted to Sergeant and serving as a Field Training Sergeant for 6 years. I worked as a Detective Sergeant in the Office of Professional Standards for 5 years before being promoted to Lieutenant and Commander of the Office of Professional Standards for another 5 years. During my tenure in the Office of Professional Standards, I was responsible for conducting confidential internal investigations, staff inspections, financial audits, policy creation and revisions, accreditation management, and special projects. I was then promoted to Major in 2022 and currently serve as the Support Services Division Commander, where I oversee Personnel, Training, Recruiting, Hiring, Payroll, Procurement, Budget ($60M), Property & Evidence, Records, Communications, Telephone Reporting, Vehicle Acquisition, and Facilities Management, including a $13M construction project.As a trainer and consultant, I traveled to police agencies across the country and provided training and consulting services for the implementation of police professional standards software.
