Responsibilities included project management and design of custom automation and robotics for a wide variety of applications. Coming up with new and unique concepts. Perform a wide variety of calculations associated with machine design including sizing servo motors. Create detail drawings and bills of materials. Get material quotes prior to machine release to ensure the design is within budget. Machine start-up, bebug, and occasionally traveling to the customers facility for installation and start-up.I was also responsible for all of the CAD administrator duties including creating and updating templates, creating and updating I-parts, and creating and updating our custom materials and appearance libraries.I also created several applications using MS Access to aid us in some document creation and storage. One of those was an application to aid in the creation and storage of our machine operation manuals which reduced the time it took to create a manual from 1 to 2 days down to 2 to 4 hours. Another was an application which would extract part numbers from a BOM based on the vendor, export them to an excel spreadsheet which was then attached to an e-mail. Which was used to send to the vendor for quoting. This reduced the time it took to get RFQ's sent out for an entire machine assembly from 4 to 6 hours to less than an hour.
