I was a lead analog and mixed signal circuit designer; circuit design included low-power switching power supply circuits, current-loop isolation, RF mixers, low-noise and low-level interface circuitry to a variety of transducers and sensors (pressure, temperature, dissolved oxygen, conductivity, and pH/ORP/ISE), digital control/microprocessor interfaces.

I was responsible for installing and characterizing a scanning capacitance and Kelvin force probe microscope; obtained CV curves and electrical characteristics of semiconductor devices with nanometer spatial resolutions; training of students on optimal use of the tool; aiding students with acquiring and analyzing electrical and mechanical data for their.

I improved the operation of an in-house IGBT latch-up test station: re-design, layout, and construction of the IGBT driver boards; active and passive shielding of IGBT control lines; improved performance from 70 amps/350 volts to 100 amps/700 volts. I was also the principal engineer developing manufacturing procedures and test support for a VME bus 68K.

I was co-founder of and lead software developer for a three person company; training and contract software development (Visi-Calc, AppleWorks, custom database, 6502/65816/680x0 assembler, BASIC, C); created and nationally distributed a war game (sole development of the user interface, audio, graphics, and artificial intelligence), disk utilities, and music.

I developed procedures and hardware for testing a Global Positioning System receiver chip; designed and built 80 MHz to 120 MHz oscillators; performed electrical testing and modification of prototype receivers; simulated operation of four different phase comparator designs for use in next generation of the receiver chip (at frequencies up to 1.5 GHz).
