Founding Director, David Rubenstein Atrium At Lincoln Center
• Oversaw the creation of the David Rubenstein Atrium, the 7000 square foot, LEED Certified Gold multi-purpose performance venue and public space – from concept / design, to construction, to its November 2009 opening • Served as client representing Lincoln Center for the $25M construction of the Atrium, working closely and collaborating with architect (Tod Williams Billie Tsien), general contractor (RCDolner), and engineer (ARUP) and designers, acousticians and consultants; worked extensively with various NYC government agencies (Department of City Planning, Department of Cultural affairs) during design approval process• Responsible for day-to-day management of the facility, its programs and services and strategic long-term planning from 2008 -2011• Since November 2009 opening, the Atrium has welcomed over 3 million visitors and presents 110 free performances, events and educational activities annually• Responsible for creation of management of the Atrium’s annual $3M operating budget • Responsible for staffing and cultivating the David Rubenstein Advisory Board; this board of trustees provided governance, financial support and leadership to the Atrium’s initiatives• Played a leadership role in Atrium fundraising initiatives seeking and securing support from individuals, corporations, foundations and government agencies• Responsible for the creation of all Atrium programs and services, including: TKTS at Lincoln Center, Atrium 360 – free weekly performances (formerly known as Target Free Thursdays), and LC Kids at the Atrium • Actively involved with marketing and public relations initiatives related to the 2009 opening / launch of the facility and the support of ongoing programmatic Atrium initiatives• Proactively marketed the Atrium as an income generating rental venue; hosted hundreds of private events since opening (including galas, cocktail parties, press conferences and numerous events associated with NYC Mercedes Benz Fashion Week)
