About Tom Barclay

I am a research scientist and team leader, using space-based imaging data and statistical modeling to understand planets orbiting other stars. I am part of the project science team at NASA Goddard for the Roman Space Telescope spacecraft. Previously, I was a team lead on both the TESS and Kepler spacecraft.My scientific interests lie in the analysis of data from space and ground-based telescopes to infer the properties of exoplanets and their host stars. This has led to a number of major discoveries including the detection of the smallest known planet. I am also a keen enabler of science exemplified by my leadership position in the Kepler science community.My accomplishments include:✔ PI on grants and cooperative agreements totaling over $3M;✔ Authored and co-authored 100 publications which received 9000 citations;✔ Lead author on papers published in prestigious journals such as Nature ;✔ Awarded time multiple space telescopes including Hubble;✔ Leader of a grant-supported research group, advising graduate students and postdocs.
