A qualified member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, Fellow of the Central Association of Agricultural Valuers and MBA graduate with the Open University offering a broad range of rural surveying and land agency experience.My current role with Defence Infrastructure Organisation concerns the oversight of land management services to the overseas UK MOD military estate encompassing territories as diverse as Germany, Cyprus, Gibraltar, Kenya, Nepal and Belize.Prior to this I oversaw the Hitchin Rural Estate Management office of Savills operating from the Kings Walden Estate in Hertfordshire - a substantial private landed Estate extending to approximately 7,000 acres with a let and in-hand farming enterprise, sizeable residential portfolio and development opportunities. Rural Estate Management and consultancy work was also undertaken for a range of other private clients, including the Knebworth Estate.Formerly I worked at Carter Jonas in an Estate Management and professional consultancy function with a bias toward institutional management, where I had responsibilities for part of The Crown Estate portfolio as well as having worked for The Society of Merchant Venturer's managing their St Monica Trust portfolio of Estates in the East Midlands, consultancy work for local authorities and the Homes and Communities Agency.In addition to land management experience, I have developed business management skills within a commercial enterprise where I managed the purchase, relocation and re-launch of ‘William Powell’, a well established gunmaker, shooting accessory and clothing mail order retailer. This included the acquisition and fit-out of new premises, research and commissioning of a new stock and point of sales system, manage the redesign and production of the catalogue and a new website, along with handling staffing matters including implementing redundancy procedures and recruiting new staff.
