Tom Hart serves as the top executive and a Board member of InterAction, the largest alliance of US-based international NGOs. InterAction serves as a convenor, thought-leader, and united voice of our 175 Members to think and act collectively to serve the world’s poor and vulnerable, with a shared belief that we can make the world a more peaceful, just, and prosperous place—together.As CEO, Tom’s chief responsibilities include:• Strategic Leadership: Setting the overall direction and strategy of the organization to achieve its mission and goals.• Fundraising and Financial Management: Overseeing fundraising efforts, managing finances, and ensuring the organization operates within its budget.• External Relations: Representing the organization to external stakeholders, including donors, partners, government agencies, and the public.• Program Oversight: Working closely with other leaders to ensure that programs and projects align with the organization's mission and deliver impactful results.• Board Relations: Collaborating with the board of directors to provide updates, seek guidance, and ensure governance and accountability.• Team Management: Leading and managing the organization's staff, providing direction, support, and fostering a positive organizational culture.• Advocacy and Public Engagement: Engaging in advocacy efforts to promote the organization's mission and raise awareness about relevant issues.Prior to this role, Tom spent 20 years at the ONE Campaign, a nonpartisan advocacy and campaigning organization that fights extreme poverty and preventable disease, particularly in Africa, by raising public awareness and working with political leaders to support effective policies and programs that save lives. Tom held various positions, ultimately serving as President. Tom oversaw ONE’s advocacy in the United States and Canada, as well as ONE’s global campaign against the COVID-19 pandemic. Tom has been part of the adoption of significant initiatives to support global health, increase electrification and private sector investment in Africa, and raise billions of dollars in poverty-fighting assistance. Before joining ONE, Tom was the Director of Government Relations for the Episcopal Church, USA. After graduating from Harvard University, Tom worked on Capitol Hill for Senators Alan Cranston and Jay Rockefeller.
