During this role I supported with the management and delivery of high profile projects on the Drax power station site, and played a key role in the development and implementation of a project management office which brought about a structured approach to the delivery and reporting of projects on site, working closely with the station senior leadership team.

This role was a link between the engineering and commercial departments at Drax, investigating commercial opportunities across the fleet of assets to contribute to a value add target included in the business plan. This included reviewing opportunities in works power usage, HFO use on starts, and various other commercial opportunities.

West Burton A

Reporting directly to the engineering manager, this role has enabled me to tackle some of the reliability and efficiency issues at West Burton power station. Given free reign to make improvements to the station starts with data analysis, formatting, processing and analyzing inefficiencies to get meaningful results which can be acted on, then coming up with innovative solutions to the problems identified. Personally responsible for the success of high value projects which have been proven to deliver significant savings to the station. Completed both IOSH and NEBOSH health and safety accreditation, as well as completing a company sponsored BEng in Mechanical Engineering.Responsible for the oversight of pressure systems within WBA, ensuring statutory requirements are met and verified through insuring body. I work closely with the communications team, championing STEM subjects and apprenticeships at every opportunity.

Cottam Power Station

Routine maintenance of all combustion, milling and boiler plant within a 2000mw station. This position gave me a sound understanding of power station principles, as well as the health and safety knowledge required to work in the energy industry.

Central Power Station

Responsible for the setting to work and supervision of a team of 5 to deliver maintenance on 16MW turbines and ancillary. outage planning and delivery, managing contractors improvements to plant.
