I serve as the Director of the Michigan Collaboration Hub at MAISA. The Collaboration Hub is one of MAISA's professional networks that is comprised of a cross-section of educational leaders from Michigans Intermediate School Districts. Over the past nine years the Collaboration Hub has provided leadership and guidance for a wide range of statewide educational initiatives and continues to explore needs and develop innovative solutions to help meet the needs of public education in Michigan.The Michigan Collaboration hub believes we best meet the needs of all students by working together.The Vision of the Michigan Collaboration Hub is to deliver innovative solutions serving the diverse needs of public education.The Mission of the Michigan Collaboration Hub is to leverage the collective resources of Michigan's ISDs and strategic partners to create innovative solutions for public education.

Michigan

Oversee statewide development and support teams and contracts for collaboratively developed educational applications. Advise and consult with Michigan Collaboration Hub at MAISA (MiCH) on strategic issues and development opportunities pertinent to educational applications. Foster and maintain close working relationships with key statewide stakeholder groups, including but not limited to MAISA, MASA, MEMSPA, MASSP, GELN, METL, MDE, DTMB, and CEPI. Recruit and cultivate statewide stakeholder product advisories. Direct all aspects of collaborative development, implementation, support and training of statewide applications developed within the MiCH ecosystem. Lead and implement the efforts of the MiDataHub Actionable Data Advisory. Develop and maintain application project and product budgets, seek grant and sponsorship funding, hire and/or contract with development, support, and training staff, and oversee all contracts related to MiCH statewide applications. Seek to leverage the State Education Network, MiDataHub, EduPaths and other collaboratively developed resources in a mission to improve teaching and learning in all Michigan public schools.

Work with stakeholders statewide to identify ways in which data can be used in an actionable manner to improve instruction, student performance, school performance, and the entire educational process. Involves scheduling and conducting meetings, developing agendas, documenting meeting minutes, developing project plans and communicating plan status with stakeholders. The information gathered is used to recommend modifications and improvements to the Michigan Data Hub environment to empower students and educators to meet the learning needs of all students.

While technically a change of employers, I am still working on behalf of West Shore ESD. My role expanded along with my department in a merger with Neighboring Wexford-Missaukee ISD. My entire WSESD team, including myself, changed employers when we consolidated departments in the summer of 2015.In this expanded role I provide leadership and support for instructional technology, the use and management of educational data, grant writing and management, and special projects. Supporting schools in the West Shore ESD and Wexford-Missaukee ISD regions and Manistee ISD for educational data. For the 15-16 and 16-17 school years I am on special assignment as the Project Manager for a Statewide grant project. This project, Strategic Readiness Support (SRS), is part of the $170,000,000.00 Technology Readiness Infrastructure Grant (TRIG). SRS is an outreach grant focused on identifying districts in the most need of support to become ready for online assessment, with a goal of helping schools become instructionally ready.

Provide leadership of regional service agency technology department. Oversee technology and data staff, including project management serving three internal departments and eight local school districts. Support general education department through the development of professional learning and innovative educational initiatives. Seek and manage grants to support and enhance educational opportunities in the region. Develop and work with local, regional, and statewide strategic partnerships and liaise with the Department of Education and a variety of professional organizations. Provide and promote professional learning opportunities for area educators, focused on the use of data and technology to improve teaching and learning for all students.
