Cnc Programming Apprentice
Key responsibilitiesCAD Design – Using Catia V5 I designed numerous parts, jigs and fixtures ready for programming or 3D printing. Creating design ideas was driven by understanding where and what current practices can advance production.Programming – Using Catia V5, I can program both 3 axis and 5 axis CNC machines. A high percentage of my workload was to analyse existing programs and develop to be more efficient. Again this was driven by optimizing production times, trying to gain the most efficient manufacturing process as possible Vericut – When a program is complete, I would run the program through Vericut. This software helped identify any problem within the program, that has been missed within CatiaV5. If a problem is detected, I would go back to the program and correct it.Manual Milling – covering peak production or absence, I would support this process to keep the work flowing. I often completed overtime on manual milling to support the business. This was great experience for me, and I never turned down the opportunity to improve my learning and development. Meeting our order deadlines was important to me as it supported keeping our customers happy in a highly competitive market.3D Printing– I worked with employees from different areas of the business, to help identify areas within their job roles, where 3D printing could benefit their daily tasks. I took great pride in this project and the responsibility it held, I worked closely with my peers and management to deliver a positive outcome. This project resulted in an improvement of quality and speed manufacturing. Providing me with great satisfaction, as my work greatly benefited the business.CNC Operator – Setting and Running CNC 3 Axis Machines. This involved clocking and setting multiple jobs at once, hitting targets, working efficiently and overcoming problems.
Staff
In this role my duties consisted of working with the public, understanding the importance of, and delivering Health & Safety briefings to the customers using the facility. I also completed H&S checks of the Trampolines on site for faults and reported/replaced any over-extended or popped springs, framework and trampoline beds. I was cross trained to help and support the wider team within the on-site Refreshment Café and became part of the maintenance team. Planet Bounce noticed the type of course I was completing during my time at college, and decided I’d make a great addition to the health and safety maintenance team. This supported my development to engage with a diverse range of customers.
