I have always had a fondness for the catering, hospitality and entertainment sectors.Having trained and worked as Chef in London, this lead to a number of years working in catering management before moving into the world of Food Wholesale. I joined Pullman Foods who merged with Booker Foodservice and then became 3663, who are now Bidvest Logistics. Starting in local sale, then joining the Marketing team as Brand Manager and eventually ending up in Key National Account Management, I had a wonderful journey and worked with some incredible people.From the world of Wholesale I move to Manufacturing before eventually leaving the corporate arena and setting up my own businesses (Cheese & Peppers and Urban Fine Foods Ltd)After many years I was tempted into moving to Sydney, Australia, where I spent some time volunteering with The Story Factory and working in Merchandising with Strikeforce before joining the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra, which is where you will find me today.My journey has primarily been one of people. I have felt inspired, educated, encouraged, driven and raised up by the colleagues and clients that I worked with throughout my life. We can all learn a skill but it is during the execution of that skill that we choose to grow. This growth is enhanced by the influences, subtle or otherwise, of those we encounter along the way whether mentor or tyrant. It may not always be easy but I believe that if we focus on the opportunity we will never stop learning or advancing. We have the power to frame our world the way we want to see and make it, rather than see ourselves as just the culmination of a series of life occurrences and experiences.Outside of work whilst chairing our Residents Association over a number of years I became actively involved in Local Government Improvement Committee programs. This was always about people, not politics or influence. We made changes and improvements, within our community, that directly impacted on 'real peoples' everyday lives. .... and the journey continues. I am still loving life and am blessed at having the opportunity to experience life anew on the opposite side of the planet to where I once lived.
