Key Duties• Responsible for the purchasing of all ambient and chilled products• Negotiating competitive prices on bulk goods and products that are included in our promotional plan• Creating competition amongst suppliers to guarantee that I secure the best possible price• Assessing and comparing the quality of potential goods, before committing to a purchase• Managing a monthly budget in excess of £100k• Ensure that all purchases are carried out in accordance to company strategy, policies and procedures.• Negotiate contract terms with in excess of 50 different suppliers (Pricing, Rebates, Promotional Support, Etc.)• Liaising with the sales department, highlighting potential new products in the market and generating leads to increase company revenue• Analysing reports and company data to accurately forecast stock levels and future requirements in line with seasonal trends• Managing the stock levels of 1700+ products in the ambient and chilled sectors of the warehouse• Completing regular stock checks• Ordering and booking stock into the Freshware system• Keeping in regular contact with the buying group we subscribe to, ensuring that we take advantage of special offers and receiving all relevant rebates• Completing weekly audit of purchasing price files• Attending annual buying group events on behalf of Q Catering• Negotiating with suppliers for better pricing on products and buying terms• Contacting suppliers if we’ve complaints with products, and communicating feedback back to our customers• Comparison of products from other suppliers, price and quality• Liaising with the sales team to decide what new products we should hold in stock• Ensuring we’ve the correct product specifications for the products we stock• Out of hours emergency contact for the building(s)• Overall team player, helping out in the warehouse and the call centre ensuring the best customer service at all times.
