Hello! I'm Tom, the Managing Director of The Empathy Project CIC. We are a small, non-profit community mental health service and Social Enterprise. I am also a Person-Centred Psychotherapist with an interest in trauma, abuse, depression and PTSD. I previously worked through Southampton-based charities and then in private practice. I founded Southampton Counselling Practice in 2022 as a collective for private counsellors working together, and we then transitioned to become The Empathy Project in 2024, with the aim of helping more people who were priced out of accessing quality therapy.Prior to that, I spent 7 years working in support of HM Coastguard in a variety of roles, including fatal accident investigation, modern slavery and public policy.I live on the Isle of Wight with my wife and labrador, Bandit. I am also a die-hard Warhammer fanatic and an avid cook. My biggest challenges are not taking on too much work and trying to spell "psychotherapy" correctly first time.
