Directed a Public Services Administration Team comprised of an Assistant Public Services Director who oversaw all Urban Libraries, Access Management, CALL (Adult Basic Ed, ELL and Citizenship), Collection and Bibliographic Services, Outreach, Outlying Library and Contract Library Services, Programming and Venue Services, Virtual Library Services and Youth Services Coordination. Developed new teams and processes to reengineer Library District business functions, training and customer service experience that will lead to transformation of District services. In conjunction with the Executive Council, began the process to develop a Services and Facilities Master Plan in an effort to position the District’s physical spaces to match the new services and space requirements. Worked to create stronger and mission-aligned partnerships between the library and other community agencies; developed additional capacity to research community needs and implement appropriate library responses to those needs. Continued to develop associations with all governmental entities to bring awareness, support and funding to library efforts at the local, state and federal level.

Under the policy direction of the Board of Trustees, created the library district’s strategic priorities and vision; planned, organized, administered and evaluated the operations of a public library district with coterminous boundaries within the City of Henderson, Nevada with a population of 275,000 residents through four libraries. Prepared an annual budget ranging from $7-10 million. Directed approximately 135 (103 FTE) full and part time team members.Organized resources to prepare, coordinate, implement, administer and evaluate numerous corporate, state and federal grants totaling approximately $300,000 - $500,000 annually. Developed a strong Foundation and Friends group. Developed partnerships between the library and other community agencies; researched community needs and implemented appropriate library responses. Worked with all governmental entities to bring awareness, support and funding to library efforts at the local, state and federal level.
Asst. Director Of Operations
Budgets, plans, organizes, supervises, and manages all aspects of the library districts operations elements including; Finance, Accounts Payable, Purchasing, Human Resources, Capital Development, Information Technology, Facilities, Maintenance, and Courier Services. Develops, recommends, and directs the implementation of districts goals and objectives, policies, and procedures; Prepares, justifies, and monitors the budget; Meets with district staff, particularly department supervisors, to assign and coordinate projects and programs, to resolve various departmental issues, and to address customer requests; Works with community relations administrator to prepare promotional pieces for the library district as new service offerings are available. Makes policy recommendations and reports on library district operations and plans; Work to create partnerships between the library and other community agencies; Develops new funding for services through partnerships and grants.
Information Technology Manager
Manage all enterprise networking, network security, PC workstations, file servers, application servers, mail systems, Internet, Intranet and Extranet application development for 4 locations over 85 square miles. Responsible for strategic planning of all future technology services for staff and public. Responsible for administering SIRSI library application system. Responsible for building plans and master plan as it pertains to technology. Responsible for writing the districts Technology Plan. Develop district policies pertaining to technology use by both staff and public. Responsible for all technology purchases within the district. Responsible for preparing IT capital development budget as well as IT general fund budget. Very familiar with governmental contracts. Very familiar with writing RFIs and RFPs for a variety of services. Responsible for grant writing that pertains to technology. Involved in numerous aspects of day-to-day administration within the library district.
