New Business Development Lead
Tiko is an African non-profit organisation that delivers scalable and verified impact – enabling sub-Saharan African youth to do more to exercise choice over their sexual and reproductive health. We achieve this through smart technologies and in-partner local networks. Founded to disrupt the non-profit status quo by making technology central to our operating model, Tiko focuses on outcomes-based impact, through direct health services and reputable sexual and reproductive health providers.
Senior Programmes Funding Manager
Street Child is an international NGO that ensures children are safe, in school, and learning. It specialises in education in emergencies, child protection, and livelihoods - working in some of the world's toughest contexts, including Afghanistan, Mozambique, and Northeast Nigeria. The primary purpose of my role was to scope and submit applications across trusts, foundations, and institutional donors with 5, 6 and 7 figure proposals (both new business and match funding). Key donors that I led proposal writing for included:• The Times/Sunday Times, leading a record-breaking international charity partnership bid which raised over £1.4m.• UNICEF• World Food Programme • Vitol Foundation• Swedish Postcode Foundation • Guernsey and Jersey Overseas Aid • Comic Relief I was responsible for developing new partnerships with strategic donors, and maintaining relationships with existing donors. While at Street Child, I developed technical expertise on programmes involving education, child protection, livelihoods (including cash grants), sport, and humanitarian interventions, including spending time in Ghana, Sierra Leone, Liberia, and Mozambique.
Business Development Officer
Terre des hommes is the leading Swiss organisation for children’s aid. They are committed to protecting children’s lives and their rights, and improving their well-being. They do this through innovative programmes focused on health, migration and access to justice.I led the business development and fundraising strategy for Terre des hommes in the UK, forging their position in a new market. This included establishing Tdh as a Framework partner for Health & Social Development for DFID. I developed and managed strategic partnerships with UK stakeholders such as DFID/FCDO, CIFF and Comic Relief. I led winning proposals to donors such as:• DFID/FCDO• Comic Relief• James Percy Foundation• Humanitarian Innovation FundI also supported management of various Tdh programmes, covering communication, Monitoring and Evaluation and finances, including the entire donor cycle. I built technical expertise in health, nutrition, innovation and WASH programming, including spending time in India and Nepal.
Institutional Partnerships
CARE works around the world to save lives, defeat poverty and achieve social justice. They put women and girls at the centre of our work, because they know that we cannot overcome poverty until all people have equal rights and opportunities. While at CARE, my key achievements included:• Supporting largest partnerships and bids with institutional partnerships such as DFID (FCDO) and the EU.• Led development of proposals to donors such as Comic Relief and The Waterloo Foundation. • Led year-on-year growth of 360% for small trust income. • Led review of worldwide funding opportunities for Women’s Economic Empowerment. • Analysed the UK donor landscape, including writing CARE’s background introduction document on DFID.
