About Tom Dixon
In my work I value making a difference and humour. I’m driven to create stronger, healthier, more engaged communities.Initially studying Arts, I dabbled in music production before finding my way to Samoa as a Cricket Development Officer in the Australian Youth Ambassadors for Development Program. Spending 12 months organising cricket and engaging local communities in such a beautiful country was a dream role! While retirement sounded nice, I came back and worked casually in state government before joining Cycling Victoria’s sport development team. Following four great years working across events, programs competitions I went to Tennis Victoria, joining the Places to Play team. I next found myself at Vicsport in a diverse, challenging, engaging role that has seen me work with over one hundred state sport associations, LGAs, regional sports assemblies and clubs, driving industry wide impact in innovation, participation, child safety and inclusion. In this role I have built a deep passion for policy, strategy and innovation.I love facilitating engaging strategy sessions, helping people see things differently, brainstorm new ideas and gain clarity of thought. I have up-skilled in design thinking and business model innovation while also gaining policy development and general management skills.Across the next decade I aim to build upon and use my skills and experience to help communities and organisations adapt to a fast changing world, and to lead and foster innovative ways to achieve positive social impacts.
Listed skills include Event Management, Sports Management, Social Media, Sports Marketing, and 14 others.
