Responsible for day-to-day troubleshooting and optimization of a naphtha pretreater, light-ends unit, and cyclic reformer. Improved reformer feed cutpoint, routing non-reformable molecules directly to mogas pools to capture $7.3MM/year.

As the sole process engineer for ACD's two largest commercial spray drying units, I was responsible for overseeing and supporting daily production, monitoring KPI's, identifying areas for process improvement and leading major CAPEX projects. In addition to standard process engineering duties, my role often times reflected that of a production engineer, supervisor, and raw material coordinator. With 90% of my work being performed on the production floor, I managed operators and supervisors to expedite changeovers, setups, and campaign startups. My work ethic, personality, and leadership style garnered respect among production workers which increased moral and efficiency greatly during my tenure.Notable achievements include: - Led a project to reduce raw material inconsistency in a process producing calcium peroxide by effectively communicating technical and financial process issues with the customer. Resulted in a 33% increase in our production rate and $200,000 in annual savings for the customer.- Developed a new process to increase throughput of potassium cetyl phosphate by 87% by identifying major problem areas in the preceding process, sizing new equipment, and tuning key process parameters. - Other responsibilities included regular plant/equipment inspections, improvement of current PM practices, and preparation of batch records, SOPs, production summaries, process P&ID’s, mass balances, and emissions calculations.

- Develop a half scale prototype for our proprietary carbon capture device which transforms captured carbon dioxide into calcium carbonate.- Produce prototypical models of our carbon capture device using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.- Perform experiments and simulations to test different variations of design to ensure our product is efficient and cost effective.

- Predict the transmission of COVID-19 by utilizing a machine learning algorithm and mathematical models to help inform decisions made by the University of Delaware to minimize the spready of COVID-19.- Produce high quality video annotation data that monitors compliance with practices such as social distancing and mask wearing.- Collaborate with several departments including Chemical Engineering, Computer Science, and Behavioral Health and Nutrition to model the activity of individuals on and around campus. - Organize the workload between a team of 3 other undergraduate engineers to ensure deadlines are met. - Present individual findings to my team which is then incorporated into larger presentations for various committees at the University of Delaware.

- Investigated nickel-catalyzed cross coupling reactions of primary and secondary pyridinium salts.- Explored sterically challenging cross-coupling of tertiary pyridiniums to form quaternary centers for applications in pharmaceuticals.- Handled optimization of new methylation and alkylation reactions for scale up from 0.1 mmol scale to 1 mol scale.- Responsible for presenting past and current work along with new ideas to share progress with group members.
