I manage Avalara's corporate public relations team and programs. We're here to tell the Avalara story and help sellers understand the impact tax compliance has on their businesses.

As an Account Manager, I was responsible for the strategic and financial planning of client campaigns, plus the successful tactical execution of the campaign by managing account teams and acting as the day-to-day contact with clients. I oversaw program development and content creation for client accounts that included traditional media campaigns, digital marketing initiatives, social media execution, creative assets, and general storytelling content.My day-to-day responsibilities were broken up into several main categories, including account management, content creation, employee management, career development, team oversight, budget supervision, and more.

As a Senior Account Executive, I oversaw and guided day-to-day public relations activities for clients, as well as provide strategic marketing communications counsel to support my client's overall business goals. Leveraging my background in integrated marketing communications, I managed a portfolio of client accounts spanning public relations, social media and marketing. Supporting Virtual Marketing, a division of Sage Communications, I oversaw the development and execution for lead generation campaigns for numerous clients, including Sitecore.In addition to client support, I also oversaw the intern program. In this role, I recruited new talent and supervised three to four interns for the duration of their internships. For each intern, I established their account teams, provided monthly hours, oversaw progress and provided performance updates as needed.Client support included Amazon Web Services, Lookout, Roboteam, Champlain College Online, Halifax International Security Forum, Solutions By Design II, Sitecore, Cloudera, Institute for Excellence in Sales and DC Department of Employment Services (DOES).

As an Account Executive, I contributed to and oversaw day-to-day media relations, strategic planning, and social media campaign execution. I developed pitching fodder, draft press releases, blogs, bylines, and develop social media calendars for clients. Additionally, I coordinated with clients on weekly, bi-weekly or monthly status updates, as well as other interactions between Sage and our clients. I supported the 2017 Halifax International Security Forum as the assistant U.S. press secretary. In this role, I secured more than 20 U.S. reporters to attend the event in Halifax, Nova Scotia. I also coordinated and staffed 62 media interviews with a variety of press, including The Washington Post and BuzzFeed, over a three day period. Client support includes Amazon Web Services, Lookout, Roboteam, TSA Precheck, Champlain College Online, Halifax International Security Forum and SAP NS2.

As an Account Coordinator, I provided a variety of public relations support for several federal IT, satellite and nonprofit clients. My support included media relations, copywriting and strategic planning.
