Leading the office of the number two executive in Britain’s largest bank with an impact on almost every UK community. Advising him on strategic and regulatory matters, I also worked closely with the Group Retail Product teams to shape business strategy and 5-year operational plans, and delivered cross-bank projects on his behalf, including building external partnerships. I was the regulatory and internal communications lead and quickly got to grips with a complex regulatory environment and helped set and communicate the Executive narrative. I gained significant experience in leading cross-Group projects, such as designing and launching the first Diversity and Inclusion forum, also a personal passion project for me.This was a highly cross-functional role, I worked with the Product Development, Group Operations, Legal, Compliance, Sales, Strategy and Regulatory teams. At all times I was required to work at pace, deliver through others whilst maintaining excellent relations with colleagues, and managed a high volume of sensitive, fast-moving issues.Recruited into LBG to help integrate the post-HBOS/Lloyds merger mortgage business into the new group structure. This required working closely with business partners, and managing McKinsey consultants, to develop a new Target Operating Model for a £300bn mortgage book, the third largest in Europe and responsible for 1 in 4 UK first time buyers.

I was nominated to represent Lloyds Banking Group in a small team to conduct a review of British banking standards. led by former Financial Times Editor Sir Richard Lambert and build a new standards body from scratch. Working with diverse stakeholders in banking, academia, start-ups and non-profits, I helped design the blueprint for the ‘Banking Standards Board’ and, working with partners in legal and policy, executed a successful launch in the summer of 2015, funded by £10m p.a. by British banks.

Internal strategic planning and advice:Designed new corporate planning and budgeting process for the 2010-11 financial year.Successfully implemented in $100m business that represents corporate gold miners, and 60% global production.Market facing projects:Formulated the first global standard for conflict-free gold. Including mapping global mine production, developing new tracking standards, and working across the supply chain to agree these. Soft-launched in Jan 2011 and aims to include the majority of gold mining output within 5 years.Supported major departments delivering market-facing projects:Sectors include Investment, Jewellery and Technology. Projects include a Gold Investment Plan in India, a new Exchange Traded Fund, and North American Jewellery strategy. Have provided ad-hoc support for the CEO in his engagement with the Board.

Provided expert advice to the COO on BBC strategy, policy and operations.Ran the COO's office and a full member of the BBC Operations Board, supervised a high throughput from multiple sources in a heavily regulated organisation. Coordinated the BBC's response to a tough Information Commissioner's Office regime on staff salaries, which was to design a new system of regularly publishing salaries and expenses, to be pro-actively ahead of the transparency agenda.Lead on communications for the COO, supported communications with the BBC leadership team, staff, and external partners. Dealt with journalists, worked with the heads of Press and Communications.

Established, and raised finance for business based in Prague and Warsaw, won promotional and sales contracts with several major clients with potential value in excess of £1m. Core business of direct (face to face) sales of products for multinational financial clients.Signoff for all contracts - staff, procurement and creative agencies. Recruited and trained part-time sales force, negotiated venue fees, managed all logistics.

Media due diligence: Performed due diligence for acquisition of major European cable company, including financial forecasts, customer take-up and revenue models, industry analysis, and strategic fit with client's business. Included submission to the German competition regulator.Financial Services/Government: Performance management process transformation for the UK Pensions Service. Resulted in increased uptake of pension benefits and improved operational capacity of administrative centres toward target of £200m over five years. Energy - shared services:Developed a Shared Services platform for a Saudi Arabian plastics producer.

Ran a privately-funded initiative aimed at reforming UK tax and benefit system, specifically to eliminate the 'poverty trap' in the UK. One-year leave of absence from Booz Allen Hamilton. Lobbied UK politicians and interest groups to build coalition backing reform. Succeeded in influencing a Government proposal for benefit reform to incorporate many of the recommendations.Authored report proposing funding of homeless hostels and work incentives. Presented to the head of the UK Government 'homelessness directorate', secured £150,000 in funding from Government for pilot.
