Tom is the past Executive Director of the Capital Area Substance Abuse Council (CASAC) which partnered with the 16 Local Prevention Councils in central CT region to promote substance abuse prevention and mental health promotion at the local level. He is active member of Connecticut’s Suicide Prevention Advisory Board and is a QPR Master Trainer, Connect and Survivor Voices Trainer. He currently serves as the Co- Chair of the Connecticut Chapter Of the American Foundation For Suicide Prevention (AFSP)Prior to Tom’s work at CASAC, he has worked extensively as an Executive Director for several non-profits in his 40 year career. He has experience with fund raising, government contracts, and community grants and has worked with many government agencies and foundations. He has extensive senior management and leadership experience, much of which has been gained while working directly with community leaders and donors.About Tom Steen ... Sports Memorabilia collector & dealer Tom Steen (known as Steeno to collectors around the country) has been a serious sports memorabilia collector/dealer since 1992. He started his collection at age 5, attending his first Yankee game watching Yankee baseball greats Roger Maris and Mickey Mantle. His 500-piece collection features the 1961 World Champion Yankees.Over the years, Steeno has sponsored sports memorabilia fund raising events and signings. Many of the sports celebrities who have attended Steeno's events include: Whitey Ford, Bobby Thompson, Rod Gilbert and Walt Frazier just to mention a few. In total, Steeno has had 40 celebrities attend his events over the years.Fund raising has been the center of many of Steeno's events with some "Sports Nites" raising $100,000 for several non-profits in the tri-state area. These events have included celebrity signings for guests along with a live/silent auction of Sports Collectables.
