I sit on Manchester's TDA Committee and take on the responsibility of liaising with both the college and the firm about issues TDAs face in their day-to-day roles as well as at college. We also are responsible for running events for the Manchester TDA cohorts, with a personal highlight being an Awards Evening and formal dinner that we ran in late May 2024. I am also partially responsible for welcoming our latest cohort of TDAs into the firm in 2024.

My main responsibility's as a Business Ambassador for the firm is to promote our Tech Degree Apprenticeship schemes to potential new joiners. To date, I have helped out with over 5 different events targeted at raising awareness of alternative higher education paths to Year 12 and 13 students. I am always looking to make more of an impact in my local community, and my role as Business Ambassador enables me to do so.

Freelance work generally consisting of creating purpose-built Discord bots for clients as well as a part of an organisation of other freelance bot devs. My main work would be automating tasks and adding additional functionality to Discord through a bot, particularly through linking to other external APIs to boost user interactivity.Outside of that, I also ended up making bots that would help improve my friends and I's experiences on the platform, such as building a feed reader that would pull data from feeds, analyse it, and format it in a clear and concise manner. Since its inception, I have held the active developer badge as my bots are still used and maintained to this day.

I joined Tesco at 16, meaning that this was my first part-time job. My main role was on checkouts, but I progressed quickly and was trained up on different departments, including Produce, Dairy, Non-Food, Self-Scan and finally on the Customer Service Desk (CSD).On checkouts, I was responsible for managing queues as well as delivering a friendly and reliable service to the customer. I took on additional responsibilities when I worked on the CSD as I was responsible for processing refunds, handling customer complaints, as well as manning the lottery and tobacco counter.Having an interest in technology and problem solving meant that I could help troubleshoot technical issues faced by my team, such as broken tills, handsets or headsets. This would help keep the shop flowing as it would enable a higher uptime for the tills.

This was intended to be used by the department as an alternative to Google Classroom, which was not fit for this specific purpose.My main roles included being my own Product Owner, Project Manager, Developer, Analyst, and UI/UX Designer, giving me vital experience in all parts of the development process.As this was for my Computer Science course, this was completed pro-bono, but completed to a production-ready standard with the necessary security constraints in place.
