About Tonji Stringfellow

I am a dedicated educator who strives to promote the academic well-being of learners by providing high quality professional development learning experiences that increase teacher impact. As a mentor, coach and professional development presenter, I am skillful at engaging learners, providing them with innovative strategies that increase student achievement and performance in the classroom, builds teacher capacity and improves the quality of teacher effectiveness in the classroom and beyond.For years, I have been instrumental in delivering high quality professional development. I create a lively and stimulating learning environment that provides learners with strategies that ignite their love for learning, passion for teaching and encourages creative and critical thinking and encourages innovation in the classroom. With an expertise in content and curriculum development, I use research-based best instructional practices to deliver sessions that are culturally responsive, embeds social-emotional philosophies, and meets the needs of all learners. As an educator, I hold an impressive list of accomplishments including a Master’s Degree in Education Administration (K-12), Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. With an emphasis in STEM education, I was nominated for the Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST) and state finalist. I have served as a Coach for the National Math and Science Initiative (NMSI) where I served as a content developer and National Coach and Teacher Trainer. I have delivered numerous professional sessions and lead presentations at the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) conferences, as well as the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD), Bureau of Education Research (BER) and many state and local conferences. With an emphasis in STEM/STEAM education, I developed a Saturday STEM/STEAM academy which I extensively trained instructors to provide extended STEM educational opportunities to students in grades K-6, in under served communities. While attending the academy, students engage in activities that assist in the development of their character, build a sense of community while learning to connect STEM/STEAM to the real world. The STEM/STEAM academy also engages students in activities that are thematic based, involve career assessment and awareness, educational exploration and the arts, including performing arts. Students participate in a variety of activities that they are able to transfer and use daily in school and beyond.
