Coordinated product pipeline goals by conceiving and initiating prototyping, fabrication and packaging processes for the “ROCKR”, a niche product for cyclists training indoors. Worked on a team of three to create direct consumer strategies and orient sales goals in alignment with production capabilities by scaling on-demand production from 50 units to 500units within our first year. The ROCKR was conceived by online DIY communities (e.g. forums and Reddit threads), and with inspiration from our fiduciary we commercialized our design to expand into niche markets beyond its DIY ecosystem.

Conducted science to inform molecular biologists, and steer applied research goals. As a team, our aim was to develop a genetically altered trap-crop which would emit an insect’s aggregation pheromone and target stink bug pest complexes.I contributed to this goal by:Mastering GC-MS and volatile sampling techniques to evaluate organic compounds emitted during insect behavioral studies. Working directly with growers to identify IPM solutions by designing and facilitating farmer field schools. Supervising a team of lab and field technicians for applied research in brassica, tomato, pulse, corn and potato crops. Examining and generating publications on the efficacy of various insect pest control methodologies through field, lab and greenhouse experiments. Being accountable for farmer outreach and extension activities.

Launched numerous field studies investigating attract-and-kill technologies to improve integrated pest management practices in vegetables crops. Many of these studies were published in peer reviewed journals that I authored or co-authored. Founded, developed and managed a middle school environmental science curriculum. This program also had impact on learning centers outside of the school district with after school programs at community centers and spring break camps at research institutions.Launched several programs over the course of three years, each focused on soil science. Programs were partnered with local 4-H offices and university programs, such as extension urban-ag and honors service learning. One of our programs worked with professional musicians from SHAED to create a song about soil forming factors. The song was later donated to Saint Louis Science Center to support their efforts to become the regional hub for soil science learning.

Delivered tours of “House of Cars”, an exhibit showcasing the history of parking garage design and use.Served as an educator for the City Vision program, which introduced concepts of sustainable architecture and design to middle school students via hands-on interactivity.
