Having served in the Royal Air Force as a Qualified Police Dog Handler and been responsible for my own dog section I decided it was time for a change. I tried my hand at a few things before revisiting something I had experienced many years before, working with people who have a disability. What a rewarding job!! Spent many years working my way up from a trainee Support Worker to becoming a Registered Manager of various homes for adults with Autism and Learning Disabilities; set up from scratch a Supported Living scheme for three young men in Rochdale which was very successful. Specialised as a Qualified Instructor in Physical Intervention and Behaviour Management and this provided me with my next career change, after completing the Certificate in Training Practice and becoming a member of the CIPD I moved to working as a Training Manager for a charity in Sale. After working in this area for some years I decided to go back into Service Management to work more closely with those people who are generally disregarded by society; I recently worked in the Project Management team to embed and introduce new technologies into the organisation to make it more effective in delivering high quality care and support to the most important individuals, the People We Support.I am now a Implementation Consultant at Nourish Care delivering training to external organisations to support them to use the Nourish electronic care planning system................ the rest, as they say, is history!!Specialties: Training & Development, Operational Management, Autism, Learning Disabilities, Assistive Technology.
