Professional Development SpecialistCda Pds For The Council For Professional Recognition Sep 2012 - PresentAs a Professional Development Specialist, I review CDA candidates’ portfolios and observe them in their classroom. Using the scoring tool provided by the Council for Professional Recognition I score the candidate based on the evidence gathered during the observation and portfolio review. I meet with each candidate and discuss their strengths and areas for improvement. We also discuss their plan for future professional development. The scores are then entered into the PDS tool online and submitted to the council.

Executive DirectorNist Child Care Center Jan 2017 - May 2024United StatesI am responsible for ensuring the daily operations of the center guiding an administrative staff of 4 and teaching staff of 30. I empower the teachers to use their education and experience to create a developmentally appropriate program that meets the individual needs of the children. The center is a non-profit center and licensed for 152 children. I set policies and procedures that ensure we are in compliance with Maryland state licensing, NAEYC and the MD Excels program. The center was NAEYC accredited in October 2017 and reached an Excel level 5 in February 2020. I work with a board of directors that consists of 9 members. I am responsible for setting the annual budget and enforcing it. I work directly with our centers Director of Education to determine appropriate trainings needed to help the teachers reach their full potential. I was directly responsible for developing and documenting policies and procedures as well as annually updating Employee and Parent handbooks.
