About Traci Carpenter
For 15+ years, I've helped build executive communications programs and written hundreds of speeches for leaders at the highest levels of politics, philanthropy, and the private sector. Currently, I work on executive communications at Google, where I help leaders tell stories, internally and externally, about Google's products, technology, and culture.I joined Google after living in Japan, where I served as the speechwriter to the CEO at Nissan. Prior to that, I served as the senior speechwriter for President Bill Clinton at the Clinton Foundation and for Dr. Judith Rodin at The Rockefeller Foundation. In between, I was Director of Speechwriting and Content at a boutique PR firm, providing strategic writing services and executive positioning for the agency's consumer, corporate, and public affairs clients. I've also written for Governor Andrew Cuomo of New York and Governor Jennifer Granholm of Michigan. My writing has appeared in the New York Times, FT, the Economist and more. I've held the pen on speeches delivered on stages worldwide, including CES, the World Economic Forum, several Clinton Global Initiatives, many motor shows, and multiple stops on various campaign trails.I began my professional writing career as a columnist and freelance reporter at Newsweek magazine, after earning my Bachelor of Arts in Journalism with honors from Michigan State University. Today, you can find me exploring the San Francisco Bay Area with my husband and our shih-tzu Swayze.
