I started my career as a Careers Adviser following a Post Graduate Diploma in Careers Guidance. I have worked as a Careers Adviser working one to one with young people guiding them on their career choices and pathways. I have been a Careers Education Adviser supporting schools and teachers in developing the careers education curriculum. For many years, I was a Training Manager for the Careers Service and then the Connexions Service. I have trained all professionals in Children's Services and was responsible for a training budget and training programme. I am a qualified NVQ assessor and Internal Verifier and was responsibe for a team of NVQ assessors. More recently I worked in a quality assurance team in Children's Services being responsible for supporting the quality of practice in Early Help and the MASH. I am a qualified auditor and develop audit tools for auditing in Children's Services. I am also a qualified coach (ILM 5) with a specialism in careers coaching. My current role covers challenging and supporting the quality of children's safeguarding across all agencies in Suffolk. I am responsible for overseeing the children’s safeguarding policies and procedures and the learning and action plans from children’s case reviews, auditing, quality assurance of safeguarding training and supporting agencies in their safeguarding practice.
