The art and science of software engineering is relatively simple. What separates a good engineer from a great one is the attitude they bring to work everyday. Engineers who come to work passionate to learn something new, humble in their work yet confident all the same, and who engage their co-workers in a way that lifts them to their potential are great engineers.I've had experience building web applications and databases from scratch, managing large databases both protected by HIPAA and otherwise, building / maintaining API's, architectural design and robust test-driven development. I've worked in both the public and private sector, and have had experience as a consultant. No matter the environment or project, I always bring a sense of humility and humor to work with me everyday. I am actively engaged in a mentorship program which aims to teach & train up-and-coming software engineers. This includes ~15 hours weekly to: code reviews, teaching new concepts, problem solving and debugging. Typically I act as their mentor for around 5 - 6 months before they begin their job hunt.
