As part of the Application Performance Management Team I help provide teams with quality monitoring solutions for their applications. Automating the installation of monitoring applications on their servers and instructing the teams on how to properly monitor their applications. I also mentor several Interns each summer and run their projects.I am the lead on a project to automate the collection and reporting of key metrics on the use of the Application Lifecycle Management tool suite, which includes the build and deployment pipelines, code and data repositories, and monitoring and performance testing. This application creates daily reports to show long term trends on the usage of our tools by application teams. It also checks to see if teams are using the recommended practices for our tools. It is a micro service application that is built with several backend RESTful APIs that leverage the Java Spring Boot framework and a single page UI that uses ReactJs and D3Js.I designed, developed and maintain an Ansible role to both install and configure AppDynamics for teams. This role reduces the time it took to install and configure AppDynamics by 10 fold going from around 15 minutes per server to around 1 minute 30 seconds, because the setup can now be run in parallel. It decreased the number of errors in installation and configuration by approximately 90% and since the configuration is centralized in Ansible the time to remediation for fixing errors that do occur is also drastically reduced. By creating this Ansible role our application teams can now tie their application monitoring installation and configuration alongside their application deployment.

Being part of the Application Performance Management team I trained teams on the use of application performance management tools Including BlazeMeter and AppDynamics. I trained teams on how to properly use AppDynamics and Blazemeter. I worked on and lead several side projects to develop internal applications to help application teams get better insights on the performance and health of their application. I also mentored and trained 4 college interns over the summer.One project was a consolidated application health dashboard. This application retrieved data from disparate sources including AppDynamics, Nagios and Xenos, and graded all applications to create a health status. This health status was then displayed in a hierarchical tree structure with data roll ups. The application was created using Nodejs and Angularjs.

As part of the Application Performance Management team I trained teams on how to properly configure AppDynamics for performance monitoring, virtualized all of the current testing environments and worked on the performance testing frameworks for Silk Performer.I setup better project tracking for my team leveraging Jira, since it was a global team this has always been issue, but was able to setup Jira so the team could have better transparency and updates to project statuses.I developed a Puppet module for installing and configuring AppDynamics agents on application teams servers.

Drupal admin and developer for the OSU Libraries where I helped departments of the library properly manage their Drupal pages and sites.I created an exhibit for digitally displaying letters to and from Linus Pauling that the library received from his estate.

Created interactive educational webpages in Drupal using PHP and Javascript.

I created an automation application for running performance tests for the performance engineering team to see if the current tests and tools could be incorperated into a teams continuous integration pipelin. There were three parts to the application. A coordinator service that leveraged Jenkins to trigger a powershell script to Initialize the test environment by copying and starting up virtual machines in vSphere. A powershell script to kick off remote Silk Performer tests to run against the newly created test environment. Lastly a python script took the results from the Silk Performer tests, caluculated the Apdex scores, and added these scores to a simple web page that compaired past test scores to the current one.
