A team of 4 developers had major quality issues affecting their ability to deliver key new features, so I overhauled the entire development process by implementing:♦ Github Actions CI/CD workflows for faster, streamlined deployments♦ Automated testing guards for pull requests♦ New E2E / Usability testing using Playwright and Jest♦ Observability dashboards so that everyone could see the improvements with SentryI further improved the team's productivity by introducing new product management processes (Shape Up method), and designating a "triager" role to be the liason between customer support and the dev team.The result was less stakeholder time spent on Quality Assurance (from days to hours), less developer time on maintenance (4:1 reduction), no unnecessary meetings, and a major reduction in the number of customer reported issues and their time to resolution.I accomplished the above while also getting my hands dirty resolving dozens of outstanding bugs, building several critical new product features, and paying down significant tech debt around error handling, the type system, and modularity, as well as mentoring 2 junior developers.

As a solo effort, I built a practice management system for mental health therapists that included scheduling, billing, video calling, and note taking.System design prioritized internationalization (timezone, language, currency) in addition to global compliance, as the target market was cross-border healthcare providers / consumers.

I unblocked development on the project by updating the project's IaC (terraform) implementation and working through several gnarly Kubernetes upgrades.

I saved the future operations of the business, as their ability to collect payments was impacted by opaque policy changes by the payment processor.Subscription invoicing was restored after migrating to a new payment processor, but to do so required resurrecting the project by setting up version control, updating all dependencies, and developing a deployment process for long term viability.

I paved the way for the business to eliminate 90% of physical production costs and 2/3 of their shipping costs by utilizing a smartphone scanning to 3D printing pipeline in lieu of physical molding, casting, and finishing. To accomplish this, I organized a team of 6 subcontractors to developed an order fulfillment system consisting of:♦ An iOS scanner app (Swift, TrueDepth)♦ A server-less 2D to 3D processing pipeline (Lambda, SQS, StepFunctions)♦ An order management web app (Cognito, Vue.js, Three.js)

My efforts were crucial in growing ARR from $0 to ~$3 million, and resulting in an acquisition offer for $40 million by a household name tech company.♦ Architected a content management and experience delivery system for 3D and Augmented Reality, including a unique actions system that facilitated interactive AR shopping and marketing experiences, and led a team of six developers in implementing it.♦ Spearheaded technical relationships with major partners such as Google, Facebook, Snap, Vans, Lego, Nestle, Wolverine, and Overstock.♦ Grew the engineering organization from 1 team of 6 individuals to 3 teams (Dev, QA, Infra) totaling 16 individuals. Matured the development processes from an ad-hoc nascent startup approach to a measured agile discipline.♦ Guided strategic decisions involving integration of 3D experiences into e-commerce platforms (such as Shopify and Wordpress) and development of 3D configurators (capable of billions of combinations, made possible by supporting multi-product layouts and interdependent product component variants, like a sectional couch with configurable pieces and arms/legs/backs within those pieces)♦ Researched and developed AR tracking and interactivity solutions (foot tracker, glTF/USDZ schemas for AR interoperability with glTF), 3D content pipelines (novel USDZ converter and glTF optimizer performing up to 30% more efficiently without use of DRACO encoding), and Web3 integrations (adapted ERC 721, OpenSea integration).

I simultaneously took ownership of the legacy Rewards product, new AR product, and began working on a proof of concept for a company pivot to a B2B2C product selling into the ecommerce industry.

Developed the original StartFest website and helped run the event.Built a time tracking tool, Uber for tow trucks, and blog writer using Angular.js and Django.Worked on projects that contributed to the success of startups Weave, VidAngel, and SimpleCitizen.
