About Trey Nelson
I am a Senior Manager of Growth Insights at Spreetail, where I self-started the Growth Insights department, focused on providing data integrity, analytics, and modelling to identify our Ideal Customer Profile, and efficiently identify ideal brand partners who we can solve problems for. Through this role, I oversee all modelling, tracking, reporting, ICP development, CAC/CLTV, and future planning for our division.Previously, I have worked at Walmart eCommerce in an MBA internship as an Operations Manager at KS1, a fulfillment center in Kansas City. I began my journey during the aftermath of Covid-19 in May 2020, and experienced record volumes in the fulfillment center. Through this opportunity, I led the inbound team of about 150 employees through many swings of high volume, and low volume weeks. This included staff planning, overseeing day-to-day operations, DMAIC process improvements, and solving to ensure we could provide products to customers who were experiencing shortages worldwide. Additionally, I led a project to improve capacity and staff forecasting from a 3 week forecast, to a 13 week forecast and a second project on estimating what Peak Season will look like. Through the creation of these tools at KS1, I also had the opportunity to create these tools for the fulfillment center network and these were implemented and transitioned prior to the end of the internship. Also, I have founded 2 businesses, one of which is an E-Commerce company focused on books and the other is a local lawn and landscaping company. Through these businesses, my entrepreneurial skills have been strengthened, allowing me to identify opportunities that others may not see within departments of other businesses. I strongly believe one of my greatest assets is finding opportunities within a business that may not "fall into someone's job description".With all that I have done, I am a passionate individual who finds myself extremely involved in matters that I care deeply about and am personally invested in.
Listed skills include Leadership, Team Building, E Commerce, Powerpoint, and 34 others.

Marketing Graduate Assistant
Worked in the Krannert School of Management's marketing office analyzing benchmarking data, creating Tableau visualizations, and elevating marketing material to attract high-quality prospective students.
Mba Supply Chain Manager Intern
I had the opportunity to work onsite at Walmart eCommerce's KS1 Fulfillment Center amidst the Covid-19 Global Pandemic. Upon beginning this role, I was very hands on with all Inbound functions and creating plans to solve for record inbound volume and major capacity constraints. Within a few weeks, this quickly turned into nearly no inbound volume and solving/collaborating to avoid the layoff of staff while ensuring the ability to work efficiently for the business. Gained unique insight leading a team of 5 managers with more combined managerial experience than years I was old, and gained the team's buy-in through a humble and eager-to-learn approach.About halfway through the internship, I turned my focus to a Summer Project regarding Forecasting Capacity and Peak Season Forecasting. Prior to my arrival, the facility had a very narrow forecast which did not allow for ample planning time. By the end of my project, I extended the forecast out to 13 weeks, using many different SQL queries, Tableau dashboards, and compiling other miscellaneous data. Additionally, I was able to find ample historical data to base a 2020 peak season forecast. Through this tool, I created 22 unique inputs that could be adjusted, and once adjusted, showed the updated capacity remaining throughout the facility, showed staffing needs across the building, among other notable benefits. I was able to create this tool and adapt it throughout Walmart's Network during my internship through ample collaboration for precise data and understanding different fulfillment center needs.
Vendor Manager Intern
Created and launched an inventory liquidation project in order to optimize inventory turn, start a new cash stream, and implemented this idea resulting in an 87% recovery on product cost. Through this project, I identified $4.2M of products for potential future liquidation and collaborated to prioritize this list with successors. I also trained senior members in inventory liquidation in order to ensure follow-through and thorough understanding of the process in order to keep momentum.I collaborated on Tier 1 vendor market research and opening orders, with a potential of $100M revenue annually from their products. Through this market research, I was able to work with a team of Vendor Managers to create multiple new partnerships and first orders while enhancing prior vendor relationships. Additionally, I collaborated on 2 projects for software optimization to be created and implemented to reduce the hours necessary for peers to complete tasks and increase overall efficiency.
Customer Experience And Business Development Internships
As a Customer Experience Intern, I was able to lead several projects such as a nationwide Carrier Issue Analysis that resulted in significant cost-savings, and a deeper understanding of our relationships with our carriers. Additionally, I used PowerBI to identify product defects and service issues and address these issues with corresponding parties to fix carrier issues or product issues - directly affecting Spreetail's decision making moving forward and creating a 5 digit recovery on damaged products. I also focused on creating an unforgettable customer experience to customers who reach out to us - mitigating losses to the company in different customer scenarios, while ensuring the customer gets the best solution to satisfy their purchasing needs and expectations.
Senior Resident Assistant
Led a team of five resident assistants in six residence halls on campus. During this time, I focused on team-bonding and growing together through activities outside of the role, such as hosting leadership workshops, challenging discussions, and reading books such as Radical Candor and discussing them as a team, focusing on how we can drive these philosophies to work together effectively. Through this role, we experienced crisis situations in which team bonding was crucial.
Resident Assistant
Built a positive and safe culture in the residential halls through programming, effective student interaction, frequent student outreach, and crisis management.
Office Assistant In The School Of Professional Studies
Prepared for the Annual High School Business Contest which consisted of over 400 students. In preparation, I worked on a team to prepare the tests and interviews, as well as arrange room reservations and volunteers to assist in the day of activities. During the day of the contest, I inputted over 1,000 test scores to determine winners within a timeframe of 3 hours. Additionally, I had the pleasure of announcing and congratulating the winners with their awards.
Logistics Team Member
Coordinate and communicate duties with a 30 person team to ensure shelves are stocked and the sales floor is pristine for an optimal customer experience upon the store opening on a seasonal basis. Created multiple ideas in order to work in a more efficient manner, one of which was adopted, resulting in consistent clean stockroom floors prior to the opening of the store.
