Livewire's work helps business senior executives and leaders connect with their teams to deliver organizational goals. We do this through strategic and creative internal communications designed to align employees with the company vision and brand, and business need. My expertise lies in the development of strategic communication plans, based on robust insight, that equips our creative and live teams to deliver smart tactics that address our clients' challenges. I was instrumental in the double award-winning work that introduced BMO's new CEO in 2017, with the aim of maintaining employee confidence during the transition. (Ragan Award for Executive Communications, 2019 and IABC Gold Quill Award for Leadership Communications, 2019). In addition to this high-value work, I have led numerous business-critical strategy projects across BMO's Retail and Wealth businesses in Canada and the U.S., as well as for its Enterprise function, including HR and Technology & Operations. I was honoured to receive Livewire's Award for Accountability in 2019.

Nigeria

Initial remit was twofold: to develop a more strategic and creative marketing and PR plan and budget for 2016; and to develop the skills and capabilities within the marketing team, particularly of the locally engaged marketing manager. This was expanded considerably during the five months to incorporate the development of a proactive and effective issues management plan that addressed a number of local issues which had emerged and threatened the reputation of the Virgin Atlantic brand in Nigeria.

Being managing director of this small PR consultancy – during the longest and deepest recession in a generation – was the most fulfilling, exciting and exhausting time of my career to date! Every day brought new ‘challenges’ which we approached as opportunities to achieve something rewarding – for our clients, our company and ourselves.With help from a great team, I turned the company around from a loss-making, financially dysfunctional business to an exciting specialist agency with a bright future. Our ethos was based on the values that made up our name: THoughtfulness, INtegrity and Courage. This was my guiding philosophy, which underpinned everything that we did as a business. We worked across an eclectic mix of clients; from Fortis Insurance (now Ageas) to the Electrical Contractors’ Association (ECA) and luxury bed manufacturer, Vispring. However, to be successful, we couldn’t be all things to all men. We needed a focus. And so we reformed as ‘Thinc Home’ – a specialist interiors consultancy offering marcomms support to high-end clients, including Vispring (a client for more than 10 years), Gingerlily, Couch, ALSO Home, Vintage Chandeliers and others. As MD I was incredibly proud of our achievements. We had created a distinct identity with a clear sense of purpose and direction. We came together and grew as a knowledgeable, skilled, passionate and continuously developing team. And we had great clients! Fantastic companies for whom we generated extensive coverage and sucessfully profiled in front of the people that needed to see them. Unfortunately due to personal circumstances (all good – I moved to join my diplomat husband overseas) I decided to close the company in July 2015. Our success was cut short, but we had achieved something special. Delivering consistently, developing professionally and, throughout it all, having fun!
