Campus Shared Services (CSS) – provides services in the areas of Business and Financial Services, Human Resources/ Academic Personnel Support, Information Technology, and Research Administration to nearly all campus units.As one of the Human Resources Assistants, I serve as a first point of contact for individuals acquiring information about our services, and I facilitate the onboarding process for hired employees. I make a diligent effort to provide excellent customer service to any individual needing our services. Throughout the onboarding process, I utilize systems such as: Payroll Personnel System, Footprints BIZeBEARS ticketing system, Work-study Portal, and HRIS: PeopleSoft in order to assure it is done efficiently and effectively. I also collaborate with my fellow coworkers and supervisors to complete any assigned task pertaining to the program while assuring customer service is the number one priority for incoming inquiries.

The 29 Palms Inn is a family owned business that operates year-round hotel and restaurant services while connecting their guest to local activities. The 29 Palms Inn is a pivotal small business in the heart of the Joshua Tree National Park tourist location. The family owned business also recently purchased the Campbell House (recently known as the Roughley Manor), which operates as a bed-n-breakfast.As an accounting assistant at the 29 Palms Inn, I worked closely with their head accountant to process account payables, receivables, and other general accounting entries through QuickBooks. I also printed out checks, obtained signatures, and delivered this information to the appropriate businesses and individuals. Finally, I updated and maintained weekly inventory reports from the restaurant through Microsoft Excel.

Twentynine Palms, California

The Campbell House (recently known as the Roughley Manor) is a family owned bed-n-breakfast located in Twentynine Palms, California. Many of the guest that stay at the Campbell House are enthusiast of the Joshua Tree National Park. The family owned business also owns the 29 Palms Inn, which is located in the same city. I assisted with breakfast and dinner services for guest. I made reservations, checked guest in and out, and billed guest through the RoomKey system. I answered phone calls, emails, and anyone seeking information about the Campbell House while providing excellent customer service. I also monitored the grounds and assisted with labor intensive duties. I created and updated information provided to the guest about the Campbell House. I revamped the templates in RoomKey for the Campbell House and the 29 Palms Inn reservation system, making it easier to alter prices and minimizing errors. Finally, before I left to attend UC Berkeley, I led a seminar for current employees and the owner to teach them how to operate RoomKey more efficiently.

Our mission [Board of Trustees] at MUSD, where students always come first, is to ensure that all students have rigorous, high-quality education which empowers them with twenty-first century skills,enabling them to be successful in college, career, and society.I was elected by the student body to represent their interest on the Copper Mountain Community College Board of Trustees. I examined the monthly agenda packets and previous minutes. I voiced and executed an advisory vote during the meeting that was in the best interest of the entire student body.

The Copper Mountain Community College Student Success Center offers free, work-at-your-own-pace programs for all residents of the Morongo Basin communities. These programs include: High-School Completion, GED/HiSET preparation, English as a Second Language (ESL), Refresher Courses, and Military Academic Skill Programs (MASP). As the grant assistant, I developed and updated a website that streamlined the program's reporting processes for the Workforce Investment Opportunity Act (WIOA) and the Adult Education Block Grant (AEBG). I communicated between students and their previous schools to obtain their transcripts; recorded students via a database; provided students' information to the program coordinator for evaluation; and contacted each student to schedule a student education plan meeting. I was a point-of-contact person for any individual or organization seeking information about the program by answering phones, emails, and in-person questions. The program serves a very diverse range of students, which required patience, superb customer service, and the mentality of a counselor.

Big 5 Sporting Goods is one of America's top retailers of name brand sporting goods and accessories.I sold products to customers by connecting with them on a personal level and assessed their need or want for Big 5 products. I advertised Big 5's E-Team marketing tool platform to customers by obtaining their email address and entering it in the Big 5 kiosk database. I also worked as a Big 5 cashier where I handled cash, cards, checks, and gift cards while maintaining a helpful and respectful customer service attitude.
