Supporting the Natrium reactor demonstration project for a retiring coal plant in Kemmerer, Wyoming. The advanced energy demonstration project features a 345 MWe sodium-cooled fast reactor with a molten salt-based energy storage system.

Systems design engineer supporting new product development including Solar's new methane recapture system which captures and recompresses site emissions from compressor seals and process pipelines. This product is has a 95-99% capture rate of methane emissions when coupled with compressor packages. On a daily basis, I maintain and develop turbomachinery package system designs by working with a cross disciplinary team including subject matter experts.

Designed project-specific Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) for custom Solar Turbines packages, including generator and compressor sets. Responsible for the system design of each package's auxiliary systems, including fuel, lube oil, seal gas, air supply, and fire suppression systems. Contributed as a core member to each project's customer-facing team, supporting customer-centered technical discussions concerning operation principles, safety, cost considerations, and project-specific customer needs.

Investigated and implemented engineering-based Enterprise Change Requests (ECRs), which required balancing engineering design considerations with cost effectiveness and customer needs. Maintained and updated internal multi-disciplinary data libraries including Excel based workbooks and linked databases.

Our senior design project consisted of designing and executing an experimental objective within a team of four students. We modeled the optimal orientation of solar panels at varying angles using Matlab for use on a Solar Tree structure that incorporates biomimicry for practical and aesthetic purposes. We then constructed a scale model to run experiments to validate predictions.

Worked as a lab assistant at Scripps Institute of Geophysics and Planetary Physics. I prepared experimental samples for research, ran calibration experiments, and analyzed results.

Taught a lab section for the Intro to Engineering and Design undergraduate MAE course at UCSD. The class teaches engineering principles in a hands-on environment, applying the creative design process by fabricating custom parts using a machine shop, 3D printer, and precision laser cutter.
