During my time at LITE, a non-profit organization dedicated to breaking down barriers to employment and reducing poverty in Winnipeg neighborhoods, I was responsible for managing social media campaigns, creating marketing strategies, and conducting outreach to increase awareness and fundraising efforts. Some of my key accomplishments include:- Developing and executing successful social media campaigns with minimal supervision, resulting in increased engagement and support for LITE's mission.- Researching various marketing strategies and trends to optimize LITE's outreach efforts.- Strategizing future social media campaigns to aid in fundraising efforts and reach a wider audience.- Learning product photography and conducting product photography to showcase LITE's initiatives and products effectively.- Contacting partner organizations to set up interviews, writing interview questions, and conducting interviews on video to further share the interviews via social media to raise awareness of the organizations' combined efforts.- Calling and connecting with several past donors and community members to inform them about the upcoming Wild Blueberry Pancake Breakfast and conducting phone interviews of interested donors.- Creating a comprehensive spreadsheet to archive information from past Wild Blueberry Pancake Breakfast events, including notable attendees, recurring attendees, and other important details.- Participating in community initiatives and gathering photographs and videos to be utilized for social media, the newsletter, and the website. My experience at LITE enhanced my skills in social media management, marketing strategy development, and community outreach, while also exposing me to the importance of local investment, community self-determination, and healthy and safe neighborhoods. I am proud to have been a part of such an impactful organization and look forward to using these skills to contribute to similar initiatives in the future.
