Profile bio

About Usman Ahmed

I am an aspiring Youth Worker and Police Officer who enjoys connecting the dots: be it ideas from different projects, young people from different walks of life, or cross sector working. I have strong safeguarding skills and an academic background in Childhood, Youth & Education. My passion lies in helping young people take the next steps in life, overcome barriers and help them reach outcomes they wish too. I am able to jump across verticals to deliver outcomes that some would think are unachievable, examples include increasing footfall into the youth centre by 75% as well as oversubscribing interest in 1-2-1 work. In my graduate studies, I’ve taken on various leadership roles, including mentoring, policing, coordinating institute-wide research events for hundreds of people, and leading a number of projects as lead co-ordinator.I am graduating in August 2025 and will be aiming to secure a place in Police Training School for a successful career in a Police force of my choice.

Listed skills include Leadership, Management, Microsoft Word, Project Management, and 6 others.

Current

I have always been an ambassador for NCS, ever since I stepped foot onto the Summer Programme back in 2015, I’ve got nothing but positive things to say and I’ve had nothing but positive, fulfilling experiences that have helped me develop into the person I am today. NCS gave me a chance, a flavour into the world of Youth Work, Summer Programmes and many other 3 sector experiences like how a Royal Charter Body works. It also gives me a chance each Summer to work on programme and I have had roles ever since I was 16 as a volunteer, then Team Leader and this Summer as Wave Leader. Each roles brings its own challenges, learn curve and training to develop but it also gives me a chance to learn and make the programme between year on year especially as I have now been able to do the programme from the viewpoint of a number of different roles. As you can see it’s something that I am definitely passionate about!
